Brad Friesen

 

For the past 22 years Brad Friesen has coached various sports, including basketball, soccer, and volleyball, but volleyball remains his passion. Brad played Volleyball at West Valley College, Orange Coast College (1990 California State Champs) and Long Beach State (1992 to 1993). Brad began his coaching career at Orange Coast College. In three seasons the Pirates went to the final four and won one California state title. Brad has coached at Delta Valley Volleyball Club, Balboa Bay Club, and San Joaquin Delta College. While coaching for Delta Valley Volleyball Club, Brad was part of winning 2 bronze medals in the 17s and 18s open division, and one Gold Medal in the 15s division.  At Delta College, the Mustangs qualified for the State Tournament every year and finished in the top three in the State four consecutive years. Brad's strength is working with setters and middle blockers, as well as teaching defensive strategy.  Brad graduated with a degree in History from Long Beach State, and earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports Administration from St Mary's College. He currently works at Lodi High School as a physical education teacher.
